Come celebrate the life and legacy of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen on the 38th anniversary of his death on December 9, 1979.  This event will introduce and honor one of the most towering figures in the American Catholic Church of the 20th century. His pioneering and award-winning work in the media helped inspire a deeper appreciation and understanding of the faith.

The event will begin with a lecture by author Paul Kengor (A Pope and a President: John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the Extraordinary Untold Story of the 20th Centuryfollowed by a discussion and audience Q&A with noted Sheen expert Sherry Brownrigg moderated by David DiCerto, Director of Program Administration at The Sheen Center.

After the Q&A, Sheen Center Executive Director William Spencer Reilly will launch the first Christmas Book Fair with remarks from and a discussion with Peter Dwyer, Publisher, Liturgical Press, and Robert Ellsberg, Editor-in-Chief, Orbis Books and author (Blessed Among Us: Day by Day with Saintly Witnesses).

Paul Kengor, Ph.D., is a bestselling author whose works include Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a CenturyGod and Ronald ReaganGod and George W. BushGod and Hillary Clinton; and The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism. His articles regularly appear in publications ranging from USA TODAY to The New York Times, plus numerous academic journals. A professor at Grove City College, Kengor is a frequent commentator on television and radio. Kengor earned his bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and his master’s from American University.

Sherry Brownrigg, Senior Partner Kennedy Brownrigg Group is a seasoned veteran of the Catholic, non-Catholic Christian and secular communications and media industries. In her 33 years in the industry, she has worked at a wide variety of media outlets and organizations excelling in programming, marketing, audience development, PR, promotions, development and strategy.  In April of 2005, Sherry left her position as president and chief programming officer at Relevant Radio to open her own marketing, PR and media creative firm.  As senior partner of the Kennedy Brownrigg Group, she works directly with organizations and individuals around the world to achieve their goals and realize their mission. Sherry has produced dozens of targeted media products for KBG clients and created innovative marketing and PR campaigns, and she has worked with many Catholic radio apostolates across the globe.
Robert Ellsberg is the editor in chief and publisher of Orbis Books, the publishing arm of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. Orbis Books addresses a broad readership exploring the global dimensions of faith, inviting dialogue with diverse cultures and traditions, and serving the cause of reconciliation and peace..
