Loreto Theater

A one-night-only performance of THE LION, the Drama Desk Award-winning show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Scheuer is “a mesmerizing guitarist,” whose “songs are awfully well-constructed; there’s a hint of Paul Simon in Scheuer’s easy, knowing lyrics and disciplined musicianship,” says The Washington PostThe New York Times says Scheuer “gets to the heart of the matter” in this celebrated autobiographical show, where the “vibe of casual, unrehearsed immediacy masks the narrative complexity of a novel or an opera,” says The Los Angeles Times. The show is directed by Sean Daniels.

Scheuer’s four animated music videos for his album “Songs from THE LION” have won awards all over the world.

With photographer Riya Lerner, Scheuer is the creator of the book, Between Two Spaces, from which 50% of proceeds go to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.

Scheuer lives in New York City and is currently working on a new album, a new musical, and a children’s book with his wife, illustrator Jemima Williams.
