Bernadette de Lourdes, the Musical

We have the pleasure of hosting a private screening of Bernadette de Lourdes, the musical depicting the story of the teenage saint, to whom the Virgin Mary appeared in the south of France, in the 19^th century. We will present on screen the French version of the show, as it was played in Paris in September 2023, with English subtitles.

The musical is based on historical records of the interrogations and investigations conducted by the police, district attorneys, and church authorities. It focuses on how Bernadette, the poorest and least educated teenage girl in her town, stood against detractors who had the upper ground, with character, honesty, and a good sense of humor. She defended her testimony, and eventually turned the small town of Lourdes into today’s sanctuary, which attracts millions of pilgrims every year.
