2: The Art of the Duo: Sarah Kay & Phil Kaye Live in NYC
Tuesday, June 21, 2016
The Sheen Center is proud to present two world-renowned spoken word poets: Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye. Armed with only microphones, Sarah and Phil are champions of vulnerability, cheerleaders for the unexpected, and ruthless flashlights for the heart's nooks and crannies. The duo have collectively performed live in 20 countries on stages ranging from TED Talks to The Royal Danish Theater Company to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and garnered over 20 million views of their work online. Sarah and Phil are co-directors of Project VOICE, an organization that brings spoken word poetry to schools around the world as a tool to promote empowerment, improve language skills, and spur creative collaboration. Off the heels of a tour in Australia, New Zealand and The Philippines, Sarah and Phil will be joining us for a rare full-length New York City show.
