Exclusive New York Screening of “Full of Grace”
Thursday, January 14, 2016
Produced by Outside da Box and distributed by Cinedigm, Full of Grace is a gripping and beautiful depiction of the early Church ten years after the resurrection. Told through the eyes of Mary, the mother of Jesus, she challenges Peter and the disciples to remember their original encounter with Christ.
With a post-screening discussion entitled: “Toward a New Christian Cinema,” moderated by Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P. Editor-in-Chief, Magnificat with writer/director Andrew Hyatt and lead-actress Bahia Haifi.
Set in Jerusalem, 10 years after the passion of her son, Mary lives out her final earthly days and contemplates the incredible mystery of her life. Accompanied by her young maidservant Zara, she quietly awaits the return of the “Rock”, the one her Son placed as responsible for the Christian people — Peter. Arriving to Mary’s home after 10 long years of traveling, preaching and fleeing from death, Peter feels the overwhelming responsibility and helplessness in front of the great task he must undertake. Spending days with Mary and recounting what happened in both their lives after meeting Christ, Peter slowly discovers that he is not leading the Church, but following what Jesus had started.
