Our resident artist program supports emerging or mid-career Catholic artists whose work advances the Sheen Center’s mission to highlight the true, the good, and the beautiful. Resident artists live at the Sheen Center for 2-4 months while working on a specific artistic project, and contribute to the life of the Sheen Center by their presence and creative work.
The purpose of the residency period is to further the artist’s career or artistic output in a way consistent with each artist’s current trajectory.
Resident artists receive free housing at the Sheen Center for the duration of their residency, partially-subsidized workspace (depending on artist medium), invitations and free tickets to Sheen Center events when available, direct access to Sheen Center staff, and a final showcase of their work at the Sheen Center.
This residency does not include board, travel expenses or stipend. Please note: The Sheen Center is not able to offer studio space for the visual arts, and is not able to accommodate projects involving painting.
